20081201~30 Korea Culture Adventure

한국! 한국! 한국!(han-guk) Korea

I have been to 한국 twice. The first time was 5 days trip on
February of 2005. The second time was a month homestay
to experience Korean life style on December of 2008. I was
thrilled when the plane arrived in Incheon airport. A message
appeared on my mind "한국, I'm back." The Korean alphabet
was waving at me. My 한국 Culture Adventure started...:P

안녕하세요.(Annyeong-haseyo.) Hello
만나서 반갑습니다.(Mannaseo ban-gapsseumnida.)
Nice to meet you.
Oh won't you stay just a little bit longer
Oh won't you please say you will
'Cause if your mamma don't mind
And your Papa don't mind
Let’s get together spend some quality time....

Kim obba is a helpful Korean gentleman who helped me a lot
from the first day I was in 한국. He drove me to my host family,
on the way, he taught me some Korean. Learned Korean
hospitality from him.

As soon as I arrived my host family, home pa took my
baggage, and brought me to his home. The door was opened.
WOW!!! There’re two little friends, running, hopping, and
saying 안녕하세요(Annyeong-haseyo) to me. I smiled at them,

and said 안녕하세요.

Korean family life style began…. The second day, we had a beef

shabu shabu for dinner. Home ma is a good cook as well as a

great housewife. Began to get some shots. My camcorder,

and camera are my buddies which keep me accompany when

I go traveling. I enjoy capturing the things what I see.

Wearing Hanbok, and saying 안녕하세요... When in Korea,

do as Korean do. Did I look like Korean lady? ^Q^"

The first impression of 수원시(Suwon Si) where I stayed. The

second day, home ma showed me around the neighborhood.

I tried to memorise the road which was a hard work. I'm a

foreigner who cannot read Korean. I was embracing the challenge.

Started to explore my neighborhood. WOW!!! Korean drive fast.
I was a bit scared. It took 5 minutes to wait for the traffic light.
In 한국, people usually do everything quickly. They've got busy
life. Korean people are patriotic, diligent, conservative and work

hard for their future.

In 수원(Suwon), the sun is big, but it's still cold. The big wind is

chilly which impressed me a lot. The third day was snowy.

Couldn't wait to get out of the door to do my MISSON.

Preschools, and churches are usually between the departements.

The playground to take a walk, do some exercise, and have fun.

The elementary school.

The bus stop is all in Korean without English.

The subway is being builded. Living in 수원(Suwon) is convenient.
The orange building is the post office. Can you find it out?

This is the old bus stop without the route map. Korean sometimes
lock the bike with the tree on the street.

There're a Taxi Stop, and a cool flyer. Do you notice?...:P

GPS, and Bluetooth in the car.

When it's snowy, I become a Snow White to discover everything
in white. Surprising!!! I found Chinese characters...:P
My little girlfriend, and boyfriend practiced Hangul with me
every day. The new day began when I heard their voice in the
morning. They're adorable, talented and smart. Learned a lot
from them...:)

20081201~30 Korea Culture Adventure-Go alone

The second week, I began to explore by foot, and took a long
walk. 1.6km, about 40 minutes walk from my host family to
Kyghee university...^Q^
It's rainy. On the way, I saw Kyghee university appear little by
little. WOW!!! The front gate is luxurious...^P^

It cost an arm, and a leg to build the front gate which is be criticized.
Was I in Europ?...:)

The sculpture is awesome...^@^"

The entrance of Kyghee university.

1.4km, about 30 minutes walk to Home Plus, TESCO. It's a 24
hours supermarket. Got some LOTTE cookies which were the
best price.
An old castle closes to Home Plus. Went there in the evening
once. The LED lights light up the sky. There're many bars, and
restaurants around this area. Daytime is nice, too...:)
Strolling there, and find out the modren city meets the old castle.
A land without ruins is a land without memories; a land without
memories is a land without history.
It looked sunny. Actually, it' 4 degrees.
Noticed there're many foreingers teaching English here as there're
lots of English institutes.

Local people like to take a walk here.

Ha! Ha! Discovered the wall is short enough to put on my camera,
and take pictures myself. KIMCHI! Are you looking at me?..:D
